In March 2025, SatCon completed installation of Starlink connectivity on a Hawker 800XP, making it the first aircraft of its type in the world to fly with Starlink aboard.
High-throughput inflight internet had largely been the territory of ultra-long-range aircraft, where installation budgets routinely exceed a quarter of a million dollars. The Hawker 800XP installation proved that midsize jets, one of the most popular segments in business aviation, can have the same connected cabin experience.
From engineering to sign-off
The installation followed SatCon's certified process end to end: engineering against approved technical data, a custom wiring and mounting kit built for the airframe, precision installation and integration, then ground and inflight validation testing before full documentation and logbook sign-off.
The result is a cabin where video calls, streaming, and cloud work simply work at altitude, with the low latency that only a low-earth-orbit network can deliver.
The start of a program, not a one-off
The first Hawker 800XP was the proving flight for a broader program. Promotional installations now start at $75,000, and SatCon is actively developing STCs for additional midsize airframes including the Falcon 900, Challenger 850, Phenom 100, Learjet 45, and Learjet 60.
